What saddens me is that the world so often chooses evil over good. In the Bible, the people called for Jesus to be crucified while pardoning the murderer Barabbas when Pontius Pilate gave them the choice. Even today, the enemy continues to manipulate through deception, setting up a “good cop, bad cop” dynamic yet the blinded and deceived still choose the bad cop. In reality, both sides remain under the schemes of the Antichrist and the Kings of this world.
Biblical Warning: Even God’s Elect Can Be Deceived
Jesus Himself warned about the power of deception in the last days:
Matthew 24:24 - “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 - “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”
Revelation 13:14 “Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth.”
These verses remind us that deception is not just external - it can infiltrate even among believers, leading them astray if they are not spiritually discerning.
The Need for the Holy Spirit’s Guidance
In a world filled with spiritual attacks, deception, and the enemy’s schemes, we must rely on the Holy Spirit to discern truth from lies:
- John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
- Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Insight: How to Stay Spiritually Grounded
1. Test Everything Against Scripture - Not all that appears righteous is truly from God. Compare teachings, leaders, and movements with the Word of God (1 John 4:1).
2. Pray for Discernment - Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal truth and guard your heart from deception (James 1:5).
3. Stay Rooted in Christ - The closer we walk with Jesus, the harder it is for deception to take root in our hearts (John 15:5).
4. Recognize the Signs of the Times - Jesus warned that deception would be rampant in the last days. Be vigilant and spiritually prepared (Matthew 24:4-5).
Final Thought
Satan’s greatest weapon is deception, and even the elect are not immune. This is why we must be spiritually vigilant, discerning, and completely reliant on the Holy Spirit. The battle is not just political or social - it is spiritual. Only by standing firm in God’s truth can we resist the lies of the enemy and remain faithful to Christ.
